Generative AI in Financial Advising: What’s Changing—and What Isn’t

AI is beginning to reshape parts of the financial planning process, but its role in practice is still evolving. Based on original research with financial advisors, Inga C. Timmerman, PhD, CFP® examines where AI is being used today, where adoption remains limited, and what those choices mean for client service, compliance, and professional judgment.

Whether you are early in your career, building your practice, or leading an established firm, this session offers practical value across career stages. Attendees will gain insight into:

  • workflow and productivity gains
  • client communication and support
  • compliance, liability, and trust concerns
  • the continued need for human judgment
  • AI’s appropriate role in advising

Join the conversation to better understand what is changing, what is not, and how advisors can approach AI thoughtfully while keeping client care and professional responsibility at the center.
